Hilbert W. Buchholz, 96, of Janesville, WI died at Mercy Hospital on Monday, December 26, 2011. Hilbert was born on May 17, 1915 in Theresa, WI, the son of August and Bertha (Lange) Buchholz. He married Lois L. Francis on January 21, 1939. She preceded him in death on December 29, 1998. Hilbert was employed by General Motors for nearly 40 years retiring in January 0f 1975. He was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and U.A.W. local # 95. Hilbert was an avid gardener who loved tending to his flowers and helping others.
Surviving are his five children, William (Diana) Buchholz of Oregon, WI, Ruth Ann
(Curt) Jones of Fond du Lac, WI, Dean (Sue) Buchholz and Dale ( Mary) Buchholz both of Janesville, Sharon (Eugene) Kampen of Poynette, WI, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Hilbert was preceded in death by his step-mother, Elizabeth Buchholz, his sister, Dorothy Westendorf and a granddaughter, Crystal Jones.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 210 South Ringold Street, Janesville. Pastor Martin J. Homan will officiate. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home and at the Church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. www.henkeclarson.com.
